First RUIS McGill Symposium
|
|
|
This inaugural symposium will focus on the strengths and new directions in continuum of care, education and patient engagement throughout the RUIS McGill network. Choose from a variety of plenary sessions and workshops and participate in panel discussions and presentations during the first day. The second day’s offerings of simultaneous and plenary sessions will focus the CvSSS and different aspects of telehealth in the regions.
The symposium will offer participants the opportunity to meet with members from across the regions and listen to guest speakers, including Dr. Yves Bolduc, Minister of Health and Social Services of Quebec, Dr. Jean Rodrigue, Assistant Deputy Minister of the Direction générale des services de santé et médecine universitaire, and Dr. David Eidelman, Vice-Principal of Health Affairs and Dean of Medicine at McGill University.

Healthy lifestyle for a healthy blood pressure: World Hypertension Day
|
Globally, 7 million people die every year and 1.5 billion people suffer because of high blood pressure, making hypertension a major public health issue. It is a major contributor to heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and diabetes, which is why the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) is supporting World Hypertension Day (May 17) by making valuable information available to the public about the importance of lowering one’s blood pressure.

Partnership between Jewish General Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital helps patients with COPD
|
The lives of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has become a little easier, thanks to an innovative partnership between the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) and Mount Sinai Hospital. This connection is now a key element in a local network of integrated services for managing COPD, including the use of a nurse navigator and an integrated interdisciplinary care program involving both hospitals and the community.
