JGH Child Psychiatry pays tribute to 3 builders


The Child Psychiatry Program of the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) invites the media to a cocktail event to pay tribute to three woman who have distinguished themselves in developing and strengthening the program since it was founded more than 50 years ago.

At this event, commemorative plaques will be presented to:

  • Judy Labow, a founder of the program, implemented an innovative therapeutic approach that is still used today.

  • Dr. Jaswant Guzder started her career as a child psychiatrist in 1979 and held various positions in the JGH program before being named Director in 2004. Before retiring in 2017, she implemented her vision of centralizing all of the elements of Child Psychiatry in a single JGH facility, thereby helping to ensure its lasting contribution.

  • Rosemary Short, who joined the JGH in 1983, served as Head Nurse of Child Psychiatry from 1990 until her retirement in 2017. Her commitment and hard work were essential to the design and development of the new Child Psychiatry facility.

When: Wednesday, April 18, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
