Committed to excellence, the Jewish General Hospital is a 637-bed McGill University acute care teaching hospital located in the Côte-des-Neiges district of Montreal. The hospital is ranked among Quebec’s largest health care institutions. Since its opening in 1934, the JGH has been dedicated to providing state-of-the-art health care to patients and families of all cultural and religious backgrounds.
The Department of Nursing at the Jewish General Hospital employs approximately 1,300 nurses who are committed to ensuring the highest quality of care to patients and their families. Keeping the health and well being of patients and families at the forefront, nurses partner with physicians in the leadership of clinical programs.
The McGill Model of Nursing guides Nursing practice as well as educational and research endeavors. Nursing Education and professional development opportunites are promoted as well as using evidence-based practice throughout the Nursing Department.
