Photo exhibit on the Post Partum Unit

Did you know the Postpartum unit has a photo exhibit that’s totally unique to the JGH? The pictures feature patients who gave birth in the unit, as photographed by Kate Fellerath of Audio-Visual Services.

“The photos beautify our environment, but they are also meaningful in the messages they convey,” says Mary Grace Espinosa, Assistant Head Nurse. “They promote breastfeeding, normalize skin-to-skin contact between parents and baby, and show the tender side of the father-child relationship.”

“The photos add a personal touch to the unit,” says Social Worker Robbie Unger. “Any patient can connect with the exhibit, regardless of their background or their baby’s condition. There are even pictures with infants from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.”

The JGH celebrates World Breastfeeding Week each year with numerous activities and events.
