Welcome Aboard

Monday, November 14th, 2011

As Pavilion K moves ahead, I’m thrilled that Joanne Cote has been appointed the Director of Transition. Joanne is the ideal person to coordinate the logistics of the transition to make the move as seamless as possible for everyone. The better the preparation, the smoother the switch — and Joanne will take us there.

Ministerial Visit

Monday, October 17th, 2011

We’ve just had an interesting couple of weeks at the JGH, which included two visits by the Health Minister, Dr. Yves Bolduc. The first of these visits was made to collaborate and capitalize on our tremendous progress in transforming the operations of the hospital to become as efficient as possible using Lean technology. The second was to announce that $300 million will be given to complete phases 2 and 3 of Pavillion K, also an exceptional event. On his second visit, he was joined by two other Ministers, Raymond Bachand (Finance and Revenue) and Pierre Arcand (Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks), as well as Lawrence Bergman, Chair of the Government Caucus.

We all felt pride and confidance in the mutual respect that clearly exists between the JGH and the government. All of this overlapped with the joyous Jewish festival of Sukkot. Truly a time for all to celebrate.
